//An Ode to a flower//

Flower, you are the lover’s gift;

Last gift of the living to the dead;

Or the priceless wedding wreath;

A way to welcome a new breath.

The memory of a moment of happiness;

This brings hope, conquering sorrow and loneliness

You are present in both east and west

And angels know the rest.

Like a young, bright expert in photosynthesis,

Like a bliss of solitude (in parenthesis!)

Brought on by dew and sun and shower,

Everyone can feel a surge of green power!

I had tended you with so care,

Hoping your scent should fill the air;

You can flash upon my inner mine

When glistening in the sunshine,

As a beauty, endless voyage to heart discovery,

You can make a poetic mind gay and merry,

You can float on high over valleys and hills

And can make the heart with pleasure fills

You are nature’s boon with bit of pride

To turn the springing world so wild.

Flower, flower bloom for me,

Toss your seed just for me

I would gaze and gaze there and then sink

Blush me with peace within a wink

Flower O’ flower you are true,

Happy am I when I am blue.
